The proposal for the Jorejick family house aims to advance the living standards by preserving their everyday life. The location of the existing huts are kept as much as possible along with the existing site circulation. Besides, their mental, physical, social, and economic well being considered as primary design parameters.

North-south axis is determined to host the main settlement of the house. The axis includes main functions such as cooking, storing, eating, gathering, relaxing, sleeping, studying, and playing to create a dynamic inner path with respect to the existing pathway crossing through the middle of the site.

The southern part is dedicated for the educational and social amelioration and growth of the young members. The existing tree utilized to create a private and joyful space. Along with 3 bedrooms accommodate 9 people, 2 study rooms are provided for educational duties.

The living room located at the intensely used part for family gatherings, especially in rainy seasons. Thus, the family is not used to spend their time indoors, the living room is designed to be permeable and luminous. Besides, a semi-open porch that carries a continuity from the bedrooms is connected to the living room as an extension.

The living room is linked to the indoor kitchen that shares a common fireplace with the outdoor kitchen to increase functionality and protection. Also, 2x1000 litres tanks, harvest water from the roof, provide water in the cooking area. The tree between outdoor kitchen and Nico’s house creates a semi-private gathering point.

Second living unit with 3 bedrooms for 6 people is placed where the existing southwest hut is. This unit is mainly dedicated for those whoever has the economical/functional responsibility. It has a linked shelter for small animals and storage for crops and beans under one roof. Besides, bedrooms layout is designed to have a good sight towards the cattle and pathways is also thought as crucial to protect their animals and so their economy.

The area where soil erosion is visible due to rapid drainage is used to collect surface runoff water. This area is excavated in order to collect water and recharge shallow underground drinkable water table. This process will increase the table from 4-5 meters to 1-2 meter. Underground water is being protected in dry season from evaporation and deterioration.  The collection area is also used as an architectural element to provide privacy for the open playing area. Additionally, 85 m3 soil excavated from the water collection area, will be used in Compressed Earth Block (CEB) making with addition of %7-10 cement.
